Tutoring
Bearwood Academy
Our tutoring program is for students trying to get ahead or catch up on skills in Reading and Math at the elementary level. Students will learn using SRA's Reading Mastery Program as well as Steck-Vaughn's Math program. Children will receive instruction based on their individual needs and can sign up for either reading, math, or both. I have extensive experience with Individualized Education Plans and can help students reach their goals. Parents can chose to have their students attend an individual session or a small group session. Both have their benefits as students can learn a lot from their peers as well!
If you have a student with an IEP who is at the middle school level and trying to catch up on reading and math at a K-5 level, I will also be happy to work with them. I have years of experience with ASD and ESE students at this level.

Tutoring Services K- 5
One hour of Individual or Group Tutoring
Individual Reading Tutoring
Students will be working on improving their individual reading skills in their area of need. These areas include, decoding, fluency, comprehension, writing, and vocabulary. Students can also work on sight words and spelling.
Individual Math Tutoring
Students will work on improving their individual math skills in their area of need. Math skills include computation, problem solving, measurement, graphing, and geometry.
Small Group Reading Tutoring
Students will work in a small group, no larger than 3 students total, with students in the same reading level on various skills such as reading comprehension, decoding, vocabulary, and fluency.
Small Group Math Tutoring
Students will work in a small group, no larger than 3 students, with others in the same math skill level and work on various skills such as geometry, graphing, computation, problem solving, and measurement.
Tuition
Individual Session: $30/hr
Small Group Session: $20/hr
It is recommended students attend 3xs a week.
